Remote Access

BEFORE YOU BEGIN WORKING REMOTELY, COMPLETE THESE STEPS AT WORK.

**If you have a new HM laptop, be sure to log in from a work location first, before you begin working remotely.**

• Register your smartphone. Do this from work, so you can get a passcode each time you log in Apps Center.

• Forward calls from your work phone.

• Citrix Receiver: Do you have it?

• Web browser favorites and SharePoint sites: Save them.

• Update browsers for home devices

THREE WAYS TO SECURELY ACCESS THE HM NETWORK REMOTELY.

**First register your phone while you’re at work by clicking here.**

• Apps Center, apps.houstonmethodist.org

• Office 365, portal.office.com

• VPN (approved only for those who currently have this access). Each time you log in remotely, click

  \\tmh.tmhs\netlogon\login.bat to remap your network and shared drives.

• Secure internet access.

• Personal phone.

• Apps Center is a website where you can easily access your Houston Methodist applications and I-drive.

WEBEX – USE THIS TO SCHEDULE ONLINE MEETINGS

• WebEx is a tool where you can schedule and attend online meetings from your computer, tablet or smartphone (for your phone, download the WebEx app). You can share your screen with others, so they can see a presentation or other documents.

IT SECURITY – KEEP YOUR DEVICES SECURE

• IT Security If you have any work information on your IT personal devices, hackers can possibly use your device as a pathway to HM data. You can protect your data and HM information by following a few simple guidelines.
