Updates in Ventilator Documentation

At the recommendation of the Respiratory Care Council, changes in Epic have been made to improve accuracy of documentation. These changes include:

• Bubble CPAPventilator mode is available for neonatal patients.

• The Heater Temperature row is moving from Vent Monitor Data to Set Ventilator Parameters

• An Airway Temperature row will be added to Vent Monitor Data (recording the value of measured temperature). Note: Airway Temperature won’t be visible for existing patients at first. You’ll need to add it from Associate Devices in the Ventilator Master Template flowsheet activity.

1. Click the dropdown and select Associate Devices.

2. Click Variables.

3. Select Airway Temperature > Accept > Close.
