UNOS Forms Must be Updated in Epic by Tuesday, Aug. 30

Transplant Coordinators and UNOS Data Coordinators

By Tuesday, Aug. 30, transplant and data coordinators will need to repopulate non-submitted United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) forms in Epic to align with new Transplant Information Electronic Data Interchange (TIEDI) regulatory compliances. Non-submitted forms will expire but can be found in the Reporting Workbench reports. Submit any manually edited forms prior to Aug. 30, to avoid having to redo documentation. Note: Rerunning population reports will clear out all manually-entered data.

The new forms will have the following updates:

Vitals date fields for pediatric patients – All pediatric recipient forms now have separate fields for recording dates of height and weight measurement.

Language for native liver diagnosis – Updated categories for documenting native liver diagnoses pertaining to alcoholic cirrhosis.

New Hepatitis B vaccination fields – All Transplant Recipient Registration forms have new fields to document whether patients received a Hepatitis B vaccine prior to their transplant. If the patient didn’t receive a vaccine, you can choose a reason from the list of available reasons.
