Secure Chat Communication Tool: Epic Update Enhancements

With the upcoming Epic Update, several enhancements have been made to Secure Chat. Through this communication tool, most Epic users can securely text each other for non-emergent communications through their desktop, WOW or Epic mobile apps like Haiku, Canto and Rover. Now, Secure Chat users can set their availability status to Offline or Do Not Disturb. Offline prevents anyone from messaging you. Do Not Disturb only sends a push notification if the message was marked as high priority.

Similar patient names will now be bolded and italicized, similar to styles used in Patient Lists and Schedules.

In the Attach Patient section, there are now buttons for your five most recently opened patient charts. Click a button to attach that patient chart to a Secure Chat conversation.

Mark conversations as read for easy cleanup, or keep as unread to highlight for future viewing.

You can change the Secure Chat message forwarding for a surgeon or others during a procedure.

Rename conversations to make them easier to track and organize.
