For Staff Working With Patient Estimates
Starting Saturday, Jan. 1, patients getting emergency care, out-of-network non-emergency care at in-network facilities or out-of-network air ambulance services will have new billing protections through the No Surprises Act. This act is a result of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, that went into effect in December 2020 and contained many provisions to help protect consumers from surprise bills, including the No Surprises Act.
