New MyChart Feature Connects Patients to Their Health Information

Pilot Starts Feb. 16 for Jones 10/Dunn 4 West

Starting Sunday, Feb. 16, patients on Jones 10 and Dunn 4 West will have the opportunity to view details of their inpatient care through the Your Hospital Stay feature on the MyChart app.

Patients using Your Hospital Stay must download the MyChart app to their personal smartphone or tablet. They’ll be able to view:

  • A list of diagnoses they’re being treated for, as well as previously identified issues.

  • Names and pictures of their attending doctor, nurses, therapists and other members of their treatment team.

  • Their prescribed inpatient medications, as well as any medications they’ve been taking at home.

  • Most of their recent lab results.

  • Articles and videos specific to their condition and treatment.

Patients are also able to share access to their MyChart account with family members or caregivers who have a MyChart account. They can do this by selecting Friends and Family access through the Share My Record menu.

Front desk schedulers and patient registration staff should continue to encourage all patients to activate a Houston Methodist MyChart account. For additional information, review the MyChart Instant Activation tip sheet.
