Effective now, when you’re admitting a patient to any Houston Methodist hospital and are documenting measles, mumps or polio symptoms for patients who have recently been to Afghanistan, an Epic BPA will alert you to order either:

Contact and airborne isolation (for mumps or polio symptoms).

Contact and airborne isolation with negative pressure (for measles symptoms).
