On Sept. 27, Zosyn and Unasyn orders were updated to comply with Texas Children’s Hospital’s best practice standards. For neonatal patients, the concentration indicated in the order name will refer to the penicillin content. For example, 50 mg/mL syringe of piperacillin-tazobactam (Zosyn) contains 50 mg/mL of Piperacillin.
Also, dosage now reflects ordering based on the penicillin component.
