Be an Epic Sponsor
Understanding Your Role as an Epic Sponsor is important. Your team needs to know you support them on our Epic journey and will be with every step of the way.
A sponsor refers to anyone who is supportive and has influence over a change initiative. Sponsors can come from anywhere in the organization. Executives, directors, managers and supervisors are the most powerful sponsors of change.
Get a jump start by familiarizing yourself with effective sponsor actions:
- Actively and visibly participate in the change
- Promote awareness of the change
- Build desire with employees and colleagues
- Communicate project status and expectations
- Coach others through the change
- Reinforce positive behaviors associated with the change
- Manage resistance
- Support employees during the change
