For All Inpatient Nurses
On Sunday, April 24, several changes were made to restraints documentation workflows in Epic to ensure accuracy and completion.
Clinical Justification row in Restraints Navigator:

The Clinical Justification flowsheet row has been added to the initial/renewal section of the Restraints Navigator.

The documentation instructions “Document initial assessment and every 2 hours thereafter” have been added to the Clinical Justification row to help clinicians know when to document.
When restraints are discontinued:

Documentation of discontinuation of restraints is now required and included as now part of the Worklist tasks.

The done and skip buttons have been removed from the Restraints Worklist task to ensure that discontinuation is documented on the flowsheet.
