The Epic LMS course for new hire inpatient nurses is being updated. Soon, it will include cognitive learning features that enhance each clinician’s knowledge, while respecting their time. We’ll begin assigning the updated course to new hires this October, so we can solicit feedback and adjust content, as needed.
Starting next February, we’ll also replace the current second day of new hire inpatient nurse training with a new offering at 30-60 days post hire. Epic access will be provided after the initial LMS course is completed, so new hires have time to work on the unit and develop more thoughtful questions, once they understand their patient care workflows.
This new class will focus on workflow, efficiency and personalization and is also open to anyone wishing to be more efficient in documentation. The training will be in-person for learners, with both virtually-led training instructors and in-person local nurse educators serving as in-room facilitators.
