A fake text message went viral recently fooling many recipients. The text message said that the person’s Amazon account had been locked because of “multiple failed login attempts to your account.” The text warned to “please take action on your account within 48 hours to avoid permanent suspension.” Some even reported getting the text multiple times. The Federal Trade Commission said it’s seeing a spike in text scams also known as smishing.
