A new, secure way of printing is scheduled to start Monday, July 8 as a pilot at Holly Hall and Chase. Just tap your badge on the printer, and your job will print.
How It Works
- When you print a document beginning July 8, you’ll see only one printer – named PPQ.
Select PPQ as your default printer. - Your document won’t print until you physically tap your badge on the printer’s new panel (installed by July 8).
- To print in color, use Print Properties and badge into a color printer.
With badge printing, no one else can print your document, increasing security and confidentiality. If you send a job to print, only to see an edit you need to make, you can make that edit and it won’t print until you badge in at the printer.
When badge printing becomes available systemwide, you’ll be able to print from any printer at any Houston Methodist facility. Your print job will remain secure, unprinted, until you tap your badge on a printer. Your document will remain queued up for 96 hours before it auto-deletes.
