To maintain the highest level of security, it’s crucial for you to avoid accessing your personal emails and opening documents on HM-provided devices. Keeping personal and work activities separate helps protect both your personal information and HM data. Mixing the two increases the risks of accidental data breaches and can put our patient data and HM systems in harm’s way. Additionally, personal emails are more susceptible to phishing attacks, and clicking on malicious links can compromise the security of your work device and potentially expose sensitive HM data.
Important Note: If you open a malicious file our systems will automatically lock you out of your HM account to protect our organization. To restore your access, you’ll need to contact IT Support or come onsite. We can’t restore access over the phone.
Best Practices:
-
Use personal devices for personal emails and browsing.
-
Always be cautious of unsolicited emails and links on both personal and HM devices.
-
Immediately report any potential breaches and/or suspicious activity to IT Support.
