Better Workstation Security and Quick Epic Access
Did you know that when you badge tap onto a workstation at the start of your shift and enter your password, your password is saved for the next four hours, allowing you to log onto other workstations with only a badge tap? The next time you badge tap in, Epic may resume from the same place where you badge tapped out, depending on the workstation’s location and workflow you were using. This saves you time when accessing Epic.
Important Reminders
-
Make sure you always badge tap out. This ensures your session closes properly and locks the workstation, protecting PHI and your credentials.
-
If your workstation doesn’t have a badge reader, you can press Ctrl + ~ on the keyboard to log off.
-
Never use the Start or Windows button to manually log out – this will turn off the auto-logon tool.
