Starting Tuesday, Oct. 10, badge tap functionality on HM workstations will be adjusted to the following:

After two minutes of inactivity, the Imprivata privacy screen will obscure any displayed data.

If there’s an additional three minutes of inactivity (total of five), the workstation will lock.
These changes will provide added patient privacy, especially in high traffic areas, and alert you that someone else is already logged in.
Best Practices Reminder:

To maximize system efficiencies and timeliness, remember to always badge-in and badge-out (logs you in and out of Epic with one tap).

Keeping the workstation secure, while leaving Epic up in the background, speeds up the next person’s login experience and saves time.

Don’t shut down Epic completely by hitting the “x” in the upper-right corner, since that slows down the login process.
