Maintenance and Downtime Impacting Multiple Systems

12:01 a.m. to Approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11

From 12:01 a.m. to approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, the following applications will experience a downtime due to a required system maintenance:

  • Alaris Pump

    • The physical Alaris IV pumps will still work for infusing medications, but data won’t be shared with Epic.

    • If an infusion is completed or discontinued during downtime: Manually complete documentation on the patient’s I/O flowsheet.

    • If a new infusion begins during downtime:When communication between Alaris and Epic resumes, the nurse should back-associate the infusion with the patient’s order.

    • If an infusion continues to run during downtime:When communication between Alaris and Epic resumes, the pump will send the infusion details to Epic and should populate for Infusion Verify

  • Nurse Call (HMTW only)

    • HMTW nurse call won’t send messages to Vocera badges during the downtime.

    • All other HMTW nurse call life safety indicators (lights, tones, consoles, pillow speakers) will still work as normal.

  • RightFax

    • RightFaxwon’t be available during this downtime.

    • If patient care requires an immediate fax, please print from Epic, then manually fax (not within Epic).
