New Look to MDM Portion of Provider Note
LOS Calculation and Display Changes
Starting Sunday, Jan. 1, there will be new American Medical Association (AMA) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) coding changes that will impact how you document your notes. As a result, in Epic, the MDM portion of the Provider Note will have a new look, and there will be changes to how the Level of Service (LOS) is calculated and displayed.

You’ll no longer see the LOS bar graph.

You’ll still use the MDM component of NoteWriter, but there will be a new area for determining the Level of Service for billing.

Information will now flow automatically, meaning less clicks and reduced documentation and will give you better information flow from Note/Dispo/ED Course to LOS.
