New Availity Clearinghouse Launches for Hospital and Professional Billing
On Monday, December 12, the new Availity Clearinghouse launched for hospital and professional billing claims at HM. Availity provides improved support, data resources and cleaner claims workflows which can also improve speed of processing patient claims. In just one day, more than 6,200 hospital billing claims were processed, for more than $2 million in total charges; and nearly 2,800 professional billing claims were processed for $65 million in total charges with the new platform.
“Thank you to everyone who helped to shepherd this new system to fruition. We are already seeing positive benefits from the streamlined claims management and authorization processes and look forward to launching the real-time eligibility component early next year,” said Lisa Schillaci, vice president for revenue cycle operations.
