Ordering Providers and Nurses

Starting Monday, Aug. 22, you’ll no longer order the ABO AND RH CONFIRMATION [LAB3291] test with a Type and screen (TS) in Epic. When it’s needed, the blood bank will order the confirmation test and will contact nursing to collect the specimen. This will help improve patient safety and reduce delays.
Now, when you order a TS, it won’t automatically include an ABO confirmation order.
