Known Historical Case Estimate Issue and Workaround

A known issue causing patient estimates to differ significantly from the actual patient responsibility has been identified by Epic Corp. This happens when certain changes (see below) are made to the HB Historical Case Estimate.

This issue will be fixed on August 14, during our next Epic Update. In the meantime, to avoid patient confusion and maintain patient satisfaction, you should manually recalculate the HB Historical Case Estimate if you make any of the following updates to the patient record:

• Add a case filter from the Case Detail section in the sidebar.

• Combine cases.

• Remove the coverage.

To run a manual recalculation:

1. Select the wand icon on the Estimate toolbar.

2. Select Recalculate Amounts.
