PatientSafetyNet To Become TAPS, Adds New Functionality

For Everyone

Starting in February 2022, employee reporting of potential safety issues will move from Patient SafetyNet (PSN) to Transparency and Accountability in Patient Safety (TAPS). In addition to a new name, TAPS will have a refreshed look and feel – but your workflows should remain the same.

For managers and directors, TAPS will provide additional alerting and reporting functionality, including an ability to track actionable follow up. To prepare, impacted managers and directors will be invited to virtual training sessions by their entity quality directors. Available training dates include:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 28, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1-2 p.m.

  • If you’re unable to attend these dates, LMS virtual training will also be available in January.

TAPS will be used to report any patient safety concerns, including but not limited to unexpected outcomes, staff issues and/or malfunctioning equipment or medical devices. These tools also provide a safe place to record issues and concerns without documenting on the patients’ legally accessible medical record.

More information on TAPS will be shared closer to the program launch.
